Panoramio 1.0, soft launch

Joaquín and me have been working in Panoramio the last weeks. Finally we believe Panoramio it's ready for a soft launch. Ideas, suggestions or bugs are welcome in Panoramio forum.

  1. It would be nice if it would be possible to link each photo you has uploaded so that you can link them in a blog.

  2. Hi blogum,

if you only want to see your pictures on your blog, why don't you put them directly in your blog?

You can link to the resized version that Panoramio is using if you know the reference of the picture. For instance, to see the resized version of picture 704 you should link to:

    http://www.panoramio.com/thumbs/704.jpg

But if everybody does that, we could reach our bandwidth limits quite quickly, and I would have to remove externals referers.

    Hope it helps,

  3. No no I think you dont understand me (sorry for my English I´m from Spain). I mean to be able to link the page in which you see the photo AND the map where the photo were taken or is from, this is difficult to put in your blog, I dont mean to link the photo from my blog I mean to link its page in Panoramio , its geographical location.

  4. In the option link to this page you dont have the page of the concrete photo

  5. In fact it does exsit http://maps.pixagogo.com/maps/start.aspx which allows to blog the photo in the maps. Perhaps it´s better to keep the site as a map site only

  6. What I miss in your site is a personal page of all the photos a user upload whith its map, but perhaps this is very difficult to design

  7. Hi,

I will add soon a way to link to the page with the photo and the map.

Having a personal page with the pictures of an user is high in our to do list (side by side with tags for the pictures), and I hope to do it sooner than later.

Right now, the register is not extremelly useful, but I put it there in prevision of personal pages.

There are however some severe bugs that I should fix before (like this dreaded search auto-suggest).

If you feel more confortable with spanish, you can use it here. As you can guess from my name I'm also from Spain.

    Cheers,

I've just added to the link in "Link to this page" the needed information to store the currently opened photo, if any.
Now, I just need to work on the user zones
