After the October update was canceled, yesterday the November one was done and 500,000 photos from Panoramio have been added to Google Earth. Now 2,5 million photos are available in Google Earth. The next update will be around December 10th.
Now from Google Earth you have a directly link to correct misplaced photos and to flag them as inappropriate. We wanted to make easier for people to collaborate so we all can enjoy Panoramio's photo in Google Earth even more.
I have just lost over 1000 pictures from Google Earth, panoramio user
ReplyDeleteID 183521. My photos that were on GE are tagged GE and from listings in the forum I am not the only on that have had numerous pictures lost can you help.
Stephen
Nice pictures and good idea, but the place that you called "Macaquinhos" in "Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Brasil", is in the wrong place. That place is called "Córrego Macaco" and there's not such a water fall over there.
ReplyDeleteMacaquinhos is beautifull place, please, put it in the right place.
Thank you!
Замечательно :) / Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhen is the next update?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for this big achievement!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations too for the new functions available to Google Earth users: comments, correct misplaced photos and tag inappropriate photos.
I tried all of them and I strongly suggest that the tagging for inappropriate photo should require a confirmation!
(I have tagged one of my photos !!)
If you click by error you must be able to go back.
Hi Aldo
:)
Pascal, the next update will be around December 10th.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Aldo, flagging for inappropriate content is not automatic, is manually reviewed and we only take action if there is any problem with the photo.
Steve, could you please give some the ID number of some of your photos that were previously in Google Earth and not anymore? Please contact me at questions AT panoramio.com
Wooohooooooo! Almost all of my photos have been added! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteEduardo: Thanks. Now I can update the GoogleWatchBlog article

ReplyDeletePanoramio-User-ID 213868
Some Photo-ID's: 1059494, 1708459, 1708468, 2466301, 2466685
It seems I'm not the only one to have this problem.
Werner
I am sorry i made a mistake by by pushing the button submit twice!
ReplyDeletegrts Tjeert!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same situation as SteveT.
This upgrade didn't add picture in GE and I've lost pictures that already were in GE.
I'm not sure that 2.5 million pictures still are available in GE if new ones take the place of old ones!
I hope this problem will be solved one day.
Yves
Hello,
ReplyDeleteMany of the photos I have submited have been accepted by Google Earth.Thnaks for that.
Unfortunately some were rejected. The rejected photos are of animals(mainly Nilgiri Tahrs)in their own environement.Would you please accept them.
Regards
V S Sankar
Congratulations Eduardo and Panoramio Team, with teh new functions at GE.
ReplyDeleteMy last uploaded picture has the ID 4485785.
Though there are some that I don't understand why they weren't uploaded or yet reviewed.
Cheers,
Alex
I also lost almost all of my pictures in GE (user 165292). So, what happened really?
ReplyDeleteW
The same problem here. I couldn't find any of my photos on GE. Neither those that were already there, nor the ones chosen for uploading.
ReplyDeleteCheers, congratulations and good luck!

ReplyDeleteAll my photos (user 462847) disappeared from Google Earth :( while they are still marked in panoramio as "accepted". And it is not only my case as I can see. Could you fix it?
ReplyDeleteSame experience as SteveT here. Images that have been in GE has vanished, even though they are stilled marked with the Panoramio logo in the Panoramio UI. My username is "stonor". If this is intended it would be nice to know to policy for kicking existing pictures.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the wonderful opportunity to upload photographs on Google Earth. I would like to make a comment about a photograph I posted recently in Tampico. I posted it as "Güerito" and it is a sunset at the Laguna del Chairel, near the Parque Fray Andrés de Olmos in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The location in Panoramio indicates Tampico as Veracruz, not Tamaulipas. Veracruz and Tamaulipas are neighbor states, both bordering on the Panuco River. Tampico is a river port on the North Shore of the Pánuco River,. in the State of Tamaulipas. The South Shore is in the State of Veracruz.
ReplyDeleteThank you in advance for correcting this situation.
You make a great job. Panoramio rocks! Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteAll my pictures disappeared from GE. Could you please tell my why
ReplyDeleteIt's just wonderful to discover the world by looking at al these pictures..
ReplyDeleteCome se mine from Denmark. ciau Per B.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWhy all my pctures, indicated with the icon are removed from GE?
Toni
Hi Edouardo,
ReplyDeleteAs related in the forum, many pictures disapeared during the last update. Could we please have some informations about the "mystery of the GE lost pictures", when you will get some news from GE.
Thanks,
Thenenan
Congratulations to Panoramio Team on new uploaded pictures, but one short question also. I noticed that some of my pictures, which was placed on GE before, missing. Is that possible that someone deleted my pictures from GE. I mean, that is very discourage and I am lossing my interested in placing pictures on GE if someone can delete them.
ReplyDeleteFor exemple ID's of deleted pictures are 2831718 and 2831611.
I hope that is just exident situation and will not be usual issue.
Best regards,
Eldin
all of my photos got knocked off. They were in the low 2.3 million.
ReplyDeleteNon riesco a capire perchè le mie foto non sono state caricate su google earth dato che le ho messe i primi di ottobre e ancora sto aspettando...
ReplyDeleteYour site is wonderful. Now, may I offer a heads-up? There is a typo here. Can you find it?

And what about the translation of this User Interface (inside Google Earth)?
ReplyDeleteI cannot see anymore all my photos uploaded in Google Earth. What is the reason? Please, can you fix it? Because I just want to upload more. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHas the DECEMBER update been cancelled?? Now in HELP i can see that next update will be around JANUARY 15th !!!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering what structural changes are being planned to address the accelerating rate of photo contributions. Right now, the backlog is over one million photos. There is no reasonable way that Panoramio staff can review each photo for appropriateness and hope to keep up. The canceled updates are proof that Panoramio staff cannot cope with its own popularity and the current rate of contribution, and yet the future will be even bigger. What can be done to massively disperse the task of determining appropriateness?
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant concept.Giving the world the opportunity to share Photos of special places, and a forum for interesting chat, comments, advice and relevant information. I am already contacting photographers across mother Earth.Thankyou
ReplyDeleteI agree with David Herbergs comments. It will be practically impossible to cater for the massive interest and countless millions of photos that are going to be submitted. Some how,a method of controlling or rationing the vast collection will have to be adopted.Sooner, rather than later a method of random dumping can be the only fair way to give evey one a fair chance to have their photo on Google Earth, in other words,A lottery.
ReplyDeleteSeñor el bueque Desdemosna esta 30 atras de donde usted lo marco. Si nesecita las coordenadas se las paso por email.-

ReplyDeleteOoops! I also, by mistake, reported a photo (of my own ! ID: 5425887) "Inappropriate". As others have suggested, I also think it would be a good idear to have a "confirm-window" before you actually sends the report.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your work with this great site !

i want my picture in google images
ReplyDeleteThe total upload bites in panoramio is stated to be limited to 2 GB. Is there any other options to increase the uploading limit since I have more than 4 GB of high pixel travel photos. Can I delete some of the High Pixel photos already uploaded and resize the same to lower picture size so as to increase the available balance for uploading.
ReplyDeleteI'm Disabled in a wheelchair & can't travel! I use Google Earth with Panoramio to see the pictures others have posted! Now today 4/11/2010 all these 'Historical' pictures seem to have all disappeared! WHAT HAPPENED?
ReplyDeletePlease reply!
