More new photos in Google Earth

Some hours ago photos up to ID 12300000 have been added to Google Earth, so we have got yet another 700,000 new photos.

The next update will be around September 22th and will include photos reviewed before September 10th.

By the way, you may have realized that we are having some trouble adding new photos to Panoramio's map. Photos that are missing will be added to the map when we fix these issues, you don't need to upload them again. Sorry for the problems!

Update 12 August: Problem fixed. New photos are again added to the map. Photos uploaded before this fix, will be added to the "all" tab during the next days.

  1. The new icons are very, very bad to see. May, that the old once were obstrusive, but you can see and reqognize them faster. Now it ist very hard to see cameras if you are far above the ground.

  2. Are you kidding? The little squares are unobtrusive and the big squares show various photos of the location under them. As far as I'm concerned, this is a big improvement.

  3. In some ways I think the Google Earth icons are a good change, small and unobtrusive so they clear up the map nicely. The larger "information" icons including photos are a great idea. But as they're being called the "grey ghosts" are extremely hard to see. If you're going to make small icons, can you do it in any colour a bit brighter and easier to see than grey?

  4. The new little squares are so unobtrusive that they can be very difficult to find, especially in built-up areas.

The idea of the blue dot inside the little square is a good one, it should make them easier to see. Or maybe a brighter colour that would stand out a bit more.

  5. Please, return old "blue circles" as marks of photos! These grey squares are very diffucult to see. If somebody does not like "cluttered icons in popular areas", he or she always can switch off the corresponding layer.

As a palliative, allow the user of GE to select an icon which he like to use for photos.

    Jessica G., GrayNomad,
I agree your opinion of the "gray ghosts". Light blue colour is better to find in the map, whether squares or small "blue circles", as Vladimir wrote.
I tested it in the map, and it doesn`t merge with no point in the map.
I`m voting for light blue colour inside the "gray-squares", like the blue dots were.
Wrote this also in the Forum "Blue Dots have changes!"
    Best regards, Fred

  7. Sorry, make a mistake!!!
I agree Your opinion, Jessica and Gray.
I`m voting for light blue colour inside the "ghost-squares", like the blue dots were.
Belief me, they`re better to find in the map, and it shouldn`t be so difficult to do that, than changing the dimension of the squares.
I tested it with a small square in a downloaded map, and it doesn`t merge with no point in the map.
Wheter this squares (I like them) or small "blue dots", as Vladimir wrote.
    Regards, Fred

  8. Sorry but ¿what about adding a Configure option in Google Earth to let everyone choose de color (and size, and shape, and transparency, end whatever you want :-) of the signs?

At last, it's local work for everyone's computer...

  10. Yesssss!
The Panoramio map works again !

Enhorabuena el Senõr Eduardo & the Panoramio team :-)

For those who can't wait for the updating of their pictures to take place, just update the position of your pics on the mad (click on modify position, don't change the location of the picture, just click on "set the new position" or whatever it's called in your language and ... you're done :-)

  11. I am adding a couple of hundred postcards under "Hwy 99 Museum". When I click on the "Your photos in Google Eath", it only seems to show the last 30 in the "Places" pane, under my user ID. Is there a way to get it to show all the pictures I've uploaded? I've current uploaded 54, with many more to come. Thanks in advance.

  13. What a wonderful site! The volume of photos to be processed is truly staggering. I was so excited to wait for the August 10th date for my photos to show up on GE- and here you were early. Thanks for the great idea.
