Uploading your Picasa Web Albums pictures into Panoramio

Starting today, we are happy to announce that you can upload your pictures right from Picasa Web Albums into Panoramio. By uploading your best photos of places into Panoramio you can share them with the Panoramio community and the world through Google Earth, Google Maps, Google Search, and more.

Panoramio is a community for hosting relevant photos about places, so every photo uploaded into Panoramio will be reviewed to ensure it meets the criteria to be included in Google Earth. We recommend you to check the Photo acceptance policy for Google Earth and Google Maps.

To upload photos from Picasa Web Albums, your photos need to be geo-tagged and in a public album. Eligible photos in Picasa Web Albums will display the "Upload to Panoramio" option below the Location map.

You'll need to log in or create a Panoramio account to upload photos.

After uploading a photo to Panoramio, it will remain public as it was before in Picasa Web Albums. The process will create a second copy, so be aware that if you want to delete this photo in the future you will need to delete it from both Picasa Web albums and Panoramio.

We are looking forward to seeing your great pictures!

Update: This is available for unlisted photos too.

  2. Finally my request from years ago is implemented! I'm glad to see this done, but I do hope you intend to take it a step or two further and allow multiple files at a time to be sent over. Going one by one is going to take me a long time. It would be great someday to flag photos for Panoramio while sending your photo album to Picasa Web Albums.

  3. Great! But the link has disapeared after a few minutes :(
Maybe the best solution would be merging Picasa & Panoramio and take the best of them?

  5. I can't find "upload to Panaramio" links at my public / geo tagged photos. I dont know why.

Like @Claudio Pedrazzi said. an “upload to Panoramio” button, exactly like the one that uploads to PicasaWeb at the Picasa PC application is what is needed.

  8. OK, some photos have the link and some don't? All photos have geotag.

  9. The only options I have for the geotagged photos in public albums are "view map" and "view in google earth." Is the Panoramio option still available or are my tags not correct? There is a map in picasaweb with the marked location of the photo. Thanks!

  10. Why geotagged photos uploaded to Panoramio are misplaced? I use Picasa or geosetter to geoencode files.

  12. [...] A couple of months ago, we launched the option to Upload your Public images from Picasa Web Albums into Panoramio. Today we are expanding this option by allowing the upload of Unlisted albums as well. [...]

  14. Could you enable an option to batch-upload the whole albums (as long as they are public and geo-tagged) from Picasa to Panoramio? I have a big Picasa account with 50 albums, 3000 images, and most of them have been geo-tagged hence it would be very nice for me to "batch upload" rather than doing it image by image...Thanks

  15. What with the Panoramio upload link not showing up below/under your Picasa picture's locstion map, you have to be logged in both on Picasa & Panoramio at the same time , and it'll show up- only under each picture's location map, not under an album's location map. That's how it is with me- using Opera 11.00 -which Picasa says it doesn't fully support- on Win32 Win XP

  16. I have opened and geotagged a photo in pacasso and panoramio and have never seen the icon for linking this publicly to Google Earth through panoramio. It appears that this is the same problem mentioned in multiple posts.

  17. I never see a panoramio upload button in the picasa web albums, despite beeing logged in in picasa and panoramio site and having geotags on the pics (they are located on the map in picasa web, google+ photoalbum respectively)
