Slideshow for your Panoramio photos

When browsing photos speed is very important, and this is why we are introducing today the new Slideshow functionality in Panoramio.

To launch a slideshow with your photos you just need to click the Slideshow button in any User Page in Panoramio. By browsing the slideshow you will be able to navigate all the pictures of a specific user, and by clicking in any of the pictures of the Slideshow you will be directed to that Photo Page where you will be able to leave a comment to the creator of the picture.

We hope you enjoy navigating Panoramio photos with the new slideshow, and as always we will be happy to read you opinion in the Panoramio Community Forum.

  2. I like the idea, but it's not working for me.

I clicked the Launch Slideshow button, the screen went black, three buttons appeared (next, previous and close buttons), but I'm not seeing any pic's of my gallery.

    Here's my gallery :- "http://www.panoramio.com/user/asia"

    Please fix it.

    Good luck!

  3. Hi ソキ,
Which browser are you using? We are doing some changes to smooth the experience in Google Chrome. It should work fine in Firefox.

Another thing is permalink is not yet working with the custom username.
http://www.panoramio.com/user/asia/slideshow is not currently available, so you need to use: http://www.panoramio.com/user/749583/slideshow

    Thanks for your comment.

  7. Wow this is a convenient improvisation.
One innovation after another in a very short span of time shows that the Panoramio team is making the best effort for the good of everyone.

  8. Great, another good contribution.

Full Screen (F11) is better, maybe you can add a warning to the unsuspecting user may know that pressing F11 in most browsers will see it in full.

    Google Translation.

  9. Hi Gerard,

    Thanks for replying. It works!

It looks very nice. Good job.
Panoramio is undoubtedly the best photo sharing site in the world! Thank you so much!

I'm using Firefox. I had to wait for about 60 seconds for the first picture to show. Maybe it's because of the slow connection speed that I have.

    Cheers!

  12. Hi,

I think it is a nice feature. But I miss to see the map. For me is Panoramio the way to show and see pictures from the world and where the photos are taken. (No need for "nice picture" Gallery)

I was testing to click on a special tagg to see and then launch slideshow.
It`s not working this way, slideshow is starting with my last upload pic.

How can no- panoramio-user know how to do? How this things work?

Thanks anyway for all your great jobb and I wish you
    Happy Easter

    Kind regards from Sweden

  13. Bravo for this new function, it works very well and gives a new dimension to our galleries !
Just two remarks to make it even better :
    - we can lunch the slideshow from any page, but it always begins with the pictures from the first page. For large galleries, it is impossible to jump to older pictures. Why not begin the slideshow from the page where it has been launched ? (including tag selection pages)
    - I've tried it on my phone (HTC HD2, Windows Mobile 6.5 with Opera browser). It works very well too, and it is very spectacular, but it is impossible to stop it! WhenI click on "close" button, it activates the "next" button

But it is only details, thank you very much for this new feature!

  14. Dear Panoramio team

I like your new Slideshow feature very much! It makes it very convenient to screen through the photo galleries.

A further improvement would indeed be, if it also would work for tags -- as suggested earlier.

Thanks for your efforts and best regards

  15. Very nice feature! As mentioned above, it would be nice to have it on the tags as well and to be able to start from whichever photo has been clicked on, rather than the first one. Also, perhaps the slide show could be advanced using the space bar and/or the right-left arrows. Congratulations on a wonderful site!

  16. I have just discovered that by pressing the "ENTER" key, it will advance the slide show, which I believe to be easier than using the mouse click for viewing lots of photos.

  19. The slide show is an excellent addition to PanOramio.
    However.

Please find a way to disable the ability to easily right click and save an image to disk.

I have caught several of my images being used with out my consent by people who have personal webpages and businesses as well.

One reason I upload lower res images is to cut back on this problem of copying. I would upload higher res images if I could have some assurance that the images were harder to copy.

  20. @Philippe
You can add ?position=x at the end of the URL and your Slideshow will begin with the image x being 0 the photo #1, 1 the photo #2, etc. We have still not implemented slideshow from each photo page, but if you want to send it to your friends via URL you can trick it this way.

    Example: http://www.panoramio.com/user/3616830/slideshow?position=12

  21. I could easily do without this function.

  22. Great feature, a fast way to see easily all the pictures. That little trick that mentions Gerard Sanz is also cool. Thanks.

  23. I think I am posting this in the wrong place but maybe you can help me please. Is there any way you can add a water mark to my images. I didn't realise that they could be copied and used by others

    Many Thanks Andy

  25. Still hoping to see slideshow improvements:

    1. Starting at any picture, not just the first one

    2. For tags

That would be so nice. Thank you.

  26. Hi '

.. has any body worked out to start a slide show from the 'time line' of uploading when a Tag link is sent ? ie getting the slide show to start in reverse of the current order ? at the moment the slide show starts a the last pic and goes backwards in time .... I would like to send a link from a Tag which shows the actual upload order , which , in most cases is the 'time line '
