Go personal with the new Panoramio profile picture

Interaction between community members is what made Panoramio what it is today. For this reason we are happy to launch today one of our long time requested feature, the profile pictures.

To change your profile picture, you need to go to the Settings page and upload your photo, an avatar that represents you, or why not one of your best Panoramio picture. Your picture can either be uploaded from your computer or you can specify an address to one of your images on the web.

Your profile photo will be displayed next to your name in the favourite photographers list, in the favourite photos page, in the Panoramio forum, and together with you description in your user page. Comments below the photos also have a small version of your profile photo.

As always we welcome your feedback in our Panoramio Community Forum.

  1. Is there a size limit for the avatar photo?

  2. The photo profile uploader is the same as the Panoramio uploader. This means size is the same as any other picture in Panoramio (<10Mb). This said, there is no need for that size as we will resize it to a smaller size, as there is no need for a 10Mb photo profile.

  9. As if you are conversing to the person himself. Don't need to imagine whom you are talking to. This could bring a more closer community.

Thank you very much .. Panoramio Team.

  11. Good morning, I've got a problem on uploading profile picture in my account on panoramio.
First I uploaded a picture, then I change uploading a single white dot because I didn't agree the new feature, now I can't upload any picture I want to, only "no picture" is allowed and the picture's "window" is overwrite on other datas.
I don't now what to do, is a reset of this feature possible? Maybe because of the 1x1 pixel dot picture uploaded?
Waiting for an answer, thanks in advance.
    Bruno.

  13. Hi,

I've just signed up for a Panoramio account. One of the first things I tried to do is upload a very simple jpg image of a logo as the profile picture. The image is only 183 kb and it won't work. I tried to upload from a flashdrive, my Mac desktop, a PC. Nothing appears to work.

    Could someone please advise me.

    Thanks,
